The Postdoctoral Affairs Office is hosting a workshop titled Writing a Teaching Philosophy Statement on March 6th from 4 pm to 5:30 pm at 210 Illini Union. More and more institutions are asking applicants for faculty positions to submit a teaching philosophy statement with their applications. This statement should reflect you and your teaching, but you may be unsure of how to start or what it should look like. Sandra Finley, from the University’s Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning, presents this informative workshop, which will guide you through the necessary steps to arrive at a statement that truly reflects your thoughts on teaching. Even if you are not yet preparing for the job market, you may find this workshop useful if you are interested in reflecting on teaching. Please register.
